EMT Training

MB Century is the only drilling contractor in Australia with trained Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) on the rigs. EMT’s have advanced medical skills and knowledge and hold a Certificate IV in Emergency Medical Response. All EMT’s are registered with the Australian Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians which is recognised in the Australian Qualification Framework.

MB Century has an ongoing training program in place for its Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) coordinators that work as part of the rig crew, to undergo EMT training. This specialised training equips our HSE coordinators to provide advanced care to injured and seriously ill employees on the rig site which are often located in harsh and remote areas. This level of first aid greatly mitigates the risks associated with the nature of our work. Our HS&E Coordinators with EMT qualifications are supported by our HSE&T Manager, Darren Cowan, who is a fully qualified Paramedic.
